Mother's Day Celebration

It's hard to believe, but I am the president of the married couples at our school. It's not like I offered to be or anything....what happened was that one night at our monthly meetings, our RA asked if anyone knew all of the names of the new people. I was the only one who knew everyone's names, so therefore I was nominated as president. It felt really strange at first. But I decided to take it as a learning experience. Thankfully, I've discovered that all it really takes to be the president is to plan events, attend meetings and be friendly/caring.
The latest event that was planned was to celebrate Mother's Day. We decided that the celebration would include all the mothers, children and married women who don't have kids. It was quite an enjoyable evening. There were games, prizes, delicious food, a biblical reflection and music. We sang some worship songs and then all the kids sang a song honoring the mothers. They also gave each mom a rose. I sure do love being part of this community.
